Last week we began the season for street ministry with our friends Divine Providence. We were in Patterson NJ and it was a hot day. The enemy always tries to stop us by turning up the heat and throwing problems our way..like difficulties with the sound system. But we are not stopped. We danced, sang. preached and prayed. People watch us from across the street..but some come for prayer. Without exception these people are drunk and/or high...and yet underneath the haze, their souls cry out for salvation and help from the Lord.
One woman who came for prayer was so 'altered' she could hardly speak but after she received prayer she said she wanted to sing. We told her to go ahead and she stood in the space were we had sung and she started to sing..yell really. Some of it was unintelligible but we could hear her praising God too. When one of the dancers started to dance, this woman tried to follow her. It touched me to see the spirit of this woman try to get past her addiction. Maybe the next day, this woman did not even remember all this..but for a moment she praised the Lord. We pray that we are planting seeds in these lost people and that one day the Lord will reap a huge harvest. It is our honor to be workers in the field.
